Saudi Arabia banned its citizens from traveling to India and 15 other nations due to the coronavirus pandemic. Saudi Arabia officials said that citizens were banned because of the new outbreaks of Covid-19 in these 16 countries.
Other than India, Saudi citizens are barred from traveling to Syria, Iran, Lebanon, Turkey, Yemen, Ethiopia, Libya, Vietnam, Afghanistan, Somalia, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Belarus, Armenia, and Venezuela.
Suadi officials said that the ban was implemented after it observed an increase in the number of daily Covid-19 cases in the previous weeks.
People who are entering Saudi Arabia no longer have to be quarantined but they will require health insurance.
The nation has also lifted its restrictions on Malawi, Ethiopia, and Angola along with many other countries.
Suadi Arabia detected 467 new Covid-19 cases on Sunday which made the tally 763,042 cases and 9100+ people have died.
The active cases tally in Saudi Arabia is above 6400. As of May 15, more than 70% of the population were vaccinated with the Covid vaccines.
The Health Ministry of Saudi Arabia told citizens that the nation has not detected any monkeypox cases in the country.
Dr. Abdullah Asiri, who is the deputy minister of health for preventive health, told the media that the Saudi healthcare sector can monitor and discover suspected cases of monkeypox and fight the infection.
