Hours after singer KK’s shocking demise after a concert in Kolkata, a video showed him looking unwell while being rushed out of the venue. He went back to his hotel where his condition has reportedly deteriorated. Reportedly, he suffered from chest pain and died on the way to the hospital.
Another video showed the singer sweating as he took a break to wipe his face. Other voices in the video were heard saying, “it is very hot (Bohot zyada garam hai)”. At some point, KK was seen gesturing to a man on stage and appeared to be talking about the air conditioning.
The cause of the death of the singer remains unknown and a post-mortem report is expected soon. Police have reported a case of unnatural death, sources said.
Many on social media claim the Nazrul Manch auditorium, South Kolkata was overcrowded and the heat became oppressive during the concert. The Nazrul Mancha has a capacity of about just 2400 but the social media posts claimed that many more people had entered the venue where the singer KK was performing for a college fest.
The 53-year-old KK was rushed to CMRI hospital after he fell ill. Doctors over there declared him dead.
Krishnakumar Kunnath or KK was known for some of Bollywood’s biggest hits, like Yaaron and Pal. His songs almost become popular among teens in the late 1990s, and his voice was common at teen cultural events and School & college farewells.
KK has recorded songs in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Bengali, and Marathi, among other languages.
Tributes poured in from around the world as fans said goodbye to KK who was the voice of their many emotions.
