Actor and filmmaker Sreenivasan was admitted to a hospital after severe chest pain on 31st March. Soon after this, he went through bypass surgery, and he has been on a ventilator since Wednesday.
According to the reports, the angiogram test was revealed that the 66-year-old actor was suffering from triple vessel disease, following which he underwent bypass surgery. Later, he was shifted to the ventilator for three days.
Sreenivasan wrote the screenplays of the movies including Odaruthammava Aalariyam, and Sanmanassullavarkku Samadhanam Gandhinagar. He wrote the screenplay for Pattanapravesham and Varavelpu. During the 90s, Sreenivasan wrote the screenplay for many movies such as Sandesam, Midhunam, Thalayanamanthram, Mazhayethum Munpe, and Azhakiya Ravanan, Oru Maravathoor Kanavu.
Sreenivasan subsequently collaborated with the directors like Sathyan Anthikad, Kamal, and Priyadarshan. As a filmmaker, he directed Chinthavishtayaya Shyamala and Vadakkunokkiyanthram.
Sreenivasan’s Vadakkunokkiyanthram movie won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Film, and Chinthavishtayaya Shyamala won the National Film Award for Best Film on Other Social issues and Best Popular Film Award at the 29th Kerela State Film Awards.
