Toyota Hilux Bookings Open: Toyota India has opened the bookings for the Toyota Hilux pick-up truck in India and this car will be offered only one variant. Based on Toyota’s IMV-2 platform, the Hilux will come with a dual-cab model having projector lights. Bookings for the car have opened at Rs. 50,000 online and Rs 1 lakh in dealerships.
The Hilux is likely to come packed with all modern safety and convenience features that include ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, cruise control, and many more.
The vehicle will be powered by the 2.8-liter diesel engine that we have seen in the Fortuner Legender. The engine will be tuned to deliver an output of 500 Nm of torque and 201 BHP.
The Toyota Hilux will feature an all-wheel-drive system with a locking rear differential to improve traction control. The pick-up trucks also sport Toyota’s A-TRAC system. The Active Traction Control system or A_TRAC allows the vehicle to automatically detect and intervene when one or more wheels of the vehicle lost traction.
If the wheel has lost traction then the system applies an automatic brake to the wheel and sends power to that wheel.
