Minister Anbil Mahesh has given a false answer to the question whether the government will consider opening schools after the Deepavali festival.
Schools have been closed for more than a year and a half due to the spread of the corona. Schools reopened for grades 9 to 12 after the first wave subsided. But after the second wave intensified they too were taught online without classes being conducted.
At this point the second wave is over and we are now at the beginning of the third wave. At this point the corona cases are rising slightly.
The students did not go
However, schools from Class 9 to Class 12 were reopened on September 1 last year due to stress caused by students not going to school for a year and a half. Despite the opening of schools with corona prevention measures, corona infection has affected students in some schools in Tamil Nadu.
1st to 8th class
In this context, consultations were held on the full opening of schools in Tamil Nadu, i.e. classes 1 to 8. The meeting was attended by Dr. Sawmiya Saminathan, an Indian scientist from the World Health Organization. Children naturally have a lot of immunity so there will be no difficulty in opening schools. They said it was a misconception that corona was spread through schools.
Stalin’s recommendation
Following this, on the recommendation of Chief Minister Stalin, schools will be reopened for classes 1 to 8 from November 1, School Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyamozhi announced. As Deepavali is a festival on November 4, there are demands to open schools for the above classes after Diwali.
Gandhi Jayanti
On this occasion, on October 2, Minister Anbil Mahesh met the media at the Thiruvalluvar bus stand in Trichy on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti after paying homage to the Gandhi statue at the Salt Satyagraha Memorial. He said there would be no change in the opening of schools for classes 1 to 8 on November 1. Schools will reopen as planned.

District Primary Education Officers in each district reported each type of feedback. One of the things he said when I presented this to the Prime Minister was that it is a matter of children’s health and we will fully comply with what the medical team says. He said there was no change in the opening of schools.
