Adolph Thornton, Jr. was born on the 11th of August, 1985, in Chicago, Illinois. His circle of relatives moved to Memphis, Tennessee, when he was 2 years old. He has two sisters and brothers.

Yo Gotti was named as a person of interest but was soon cleared.
Younger Dolph selected the name Bulletproof for his 2d album based totally on the incident.
