Chief Minister MK Stalin has said that everyone must obey the rules of the road. The Chief Minister said that it is mandatory to wear a helmet on a two-wheeler and those traveling in a car must wear a seat belt, adding that the life of an individual is very important to the country.
Chief Minister MK Stalin launched the 48 – ‘Let’s Save Life’ project in Melmaruvathur to protect us in Tamil Nadu. The Innuyir Kappom project has been launched in Tamil Nadu to prevent road accidents and fatalities.
The ‘Save the Life’ scheme is that the government will bear the medical expenses for the first 48 hours of the road accident victims. The scheme has been implemented in 610 hospitals across Tamil Nadu.

Speaking at the launch of the Save Our Life program, Chief Minister MK Stalin said that Tamil Nadu is the first state in India to have the highest number of fatalities in road accidents.

Free treatment
The Chief Minister had directed that under the Innuyur Kappom scheme, those injured in the accident should be given first aid free of cost within 48 hours, without asking for any documents such as identity cards and police prosecution proceedings. The scheme is being implemented in a total of 610 hospitals including 205 District Medical College Hospitals, District Government Hospitals and 405 Private Hospitals.
