Eligibility Criteria to Apply for PMAY
Following is the eligibility criteria to apply for a home under PMAY – Housing for All
- You should not own a house
- Only one subsidy will be available, in case you are applying as a joint owner or married couple
- You should not be a housing beneficiary in any other schemes
- You must belong to any of the Low-income Group (LIG), Economically Weaker Section (EWS), or Middle Income Group (MIG 1 & 2) categories
Steps for applying Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY)
The Ministry of Housing and Urban Development has brought a simple process to apply for a house under this scheme. Basically, the form has two pages and persons have to provide details about themselves.
- Page 1: “Enter Aadhaar Number”. After the Aadhaar number verification, you can access the next page
- Page 2: Here, applicants have to provide their personal details like state, address, head of the family, etc
PMAY Scheme can be applied under two categories
- Slum Dwellers: Slum is an area of poorly built residences where 6–70 households or approximately 300 people stay. These areas’ people are lack drinking water, sanitation facilities, and proper infrastructure. The people belonging to these areas can apply under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana by 2024.
- Under Other 3 Components: The LIGs (Lower Income Groups), EWS (Economically Weaker Sections), and MIGs (Middle Income Groups) are considered as PMAY beneficiaries. The income for EWS, LIG, MIG should be Rs. 3 lakh, Rs. 3-6 lakh, and Rs. 6-18 lakh respectively.
Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Application Form 2024 Online
- Log in to the official website of PMAY, pmaymis.gov.in
- Under the citizen assessment, choose your suitable category, ‘Slum Dwellers’ or ‘Benefits Under 3 Components’
- Give the Aadhaar number and then proceed with verifying Aadhaar details
- After the completion of verification, fill in all the details mentioned in the form
- Enter the captcha and hit submit button
Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Application Form 2024 Offline
The PMAY application form can be submitted in offline mode also. For this, you are supposed to visit Common Service Centre (CSC) or a bank listed under PMAY. There you can the form at the cost of Rs 25 + GST. Fill and submit the form.
The below list of documents are needed to be submitted along with the application form
- Any identity proof (Aadhar Card / Voter’s ID Card / PAN Card/ Driving License)
- Proof of your address
- House fitness certificate
- Cost of construction/repairs verification certificate by an engineer/architect
- Valuation certificate of the property
- Proof for your income like form 16 or latest IT return or last six months bank account statement
- No objection certificate from the housing society
- Approved plan of construction
- Affidavit stating you or your immediate family have no own house
- Allotment letter of property or any relevant ones
For LIG and EWS categories, the maximum available subsidy is up to Rs 2.67 lakh, and in the case of MIG (1 & 2), it is Rs 2.35 and Rs 2.31 lakh respectively.
