About Mahanati:
Savithri, her full name is Nissankara Savithri. She was born on 6th December, 1936 in Chiravuru, Guntur district, Madras Presidency, Andhra Pradesh in India. Other names of Savitri is Mahanati Savitri and Nadigaiyan Thilagam. Her father is Nissankara Guruvaiya and mother is Subhadramma. Father died, when she was 6 months old baby. There is no chance for them to live on their legs. Both of them don’t have any oppurtunity to Live independently.
From that time onwards her uncle is taking care about Savithri and her mother. Her uncle name is Kommareddy Venkataramaiah Chowdary.
Life Of Savithri:
She is too intelligent girl from her childhood only. She looks very Beautiful and Gorgeous. Everyone will get attracts to her beautiful eyes.
She used to play dramas and small small acting in her village. Savithri and her uncle went to Madras (studio) for opportunity to play roles in movies. But she didn’t get a chance because she was fourteen years old only. And next day they went to another studio, Gemini Ganesan take her photos and placed in some magazines. After one year she got chance in movies.
Savithri Career:
Savithri is an famous actress in telugu film industry. She also an playback Singer, Dancer, Director, And Producer (Telugu and Tamil movies). She is also well known for her works in Kannada, Hindi and Malayalam movies. First she got chance (heroine) in Samsaram movie but she didn’t acts perfect so her place is replaced. So she plays a minor role in Samsaram as well as Roopavati and Pathala Bhairavi. And her first film is Pelli Chesi Chudu (Telugu) in 1952, Devadasu(1953), Donga Ramudu(1955) along with Misamma and Ardhangi in same year. Mayabazar and Thodikodalu(1957), Mangalya Balam(1959), Chivaraku Migiledhi(1960), Aradhana(1962), Gundamma Kadha(1962), Nartana Sala(1963), Doctor Chakravarty in 1964, Sumangali and Devatha both movies in 1965 And she was also an producer, and also director for Chinnari Papalu movie in 1968. It was very great thing and she was appreciated by everyone.

Savithri Marriage & Marriage Life:
She married Gemini Ganesan in the year 1952. He is also an Movie Actor. Both are acted in same films. Her first meet with Gemini Ganesan in 1948. But her uncle refuses their marriage because Gemini Ganesan already married Pushpavalli and had two daughters. Their marriage known to everyone when he signed as Savitri Ganesh. They had two children, one daughter Vijaya Chamundeshwari and one son Sathish Kumar.
After some years they got fights in between them because of Gemini Ganesan affairs with others. She left Gemini Ganesan and she is with her mother. Her career took a down turn in 1960s. Properties are seized by tax officials including her house. She sacrifices her life more to poor people. She always helps to poor people. But no one is there with her to help her. She again got small chances in acting as Suppoter role Dasari Narayan Rao in most of his films like Gorintaku (1959) and specially made Malli Puttadu (1978) movie for her. After separation from her husband she addicted (fully) to drinking (Alchol). She even didn’t think about her daughter, she completely addicted to Vodka. She got many health issues.
Awards:
- She won Rashtrapati Award for Chivaraku Migiledhi movie in 1960.
- She won Nandi award for best feature film for Chinnari Papalu movie in 1968.
Achievments:
She received “A moon among stars” honour at 30th international Film festival in India(1999).
Death Of Savithri:
Finally, she suffer with diabetes and high blood pressure due to over drinking, she is in Comma, After 18 months of Comma she passed away on 6th December, 1981 (aged 45). The sad thing is that day is her birthday.
