On Thursday night, three police officers and four journalists were arrested for illegally extorting trucks on the Delhi-Agra highway. Four journalists, a deputy inspector, and two agents were arrested by a police team dispatched when they stopped the truck and illegally blackmailed them.
Dr. Mathura, senior police officer, Gaurav Grover, reported that three police officers were immediately suspended and departmental action was taken. Four journalists were also arrested, including ten purple IDs, 4 Android smartphones, a Honda City car, a Wagon R, four wallets, and 4,712 calls. Police detainees include Ajith Kumar, Bahadur Singh, Richa Sharma, Digambar Singh, Naresh Kumar, and Zitendra Sharma. According to Mathura Police Chief Singura, one of the trucks belongs to Krishna Agrawar, a resident and grain merchant in Kamala Nagar, Agra. His car, full of rice, comes to Agra and carries the grain to Ismailabad in Kurukshetra. Amarsin was driving this truck.
The journalist parked a Honda City car in front of the truck at the Mahuan tollhouse under the Fara police station and stopped the truck. He began demanding Rs 3 million from the driver while journalists threatened to send him to jail if he did not receive the money. The driver informed the truck owner of the entire call situation and the owner immediately contacted Agra Zone IG, Navine Arora. IG sent a police team to the scene and asked about the truth. Immediate action was taken against the police officers involved when reality caught the attention of IG.
