Increase in students switching from private school to government school – Update given by the Minister
2,04,379 students have joined government schools across Tamil Nadu this year. Minister Anbil Mahesh has lied that 75,725 students have joined government schools from private schools across Tamil Nadu this year.
School Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyamozhi has launched an online basic computer training class for primary, intermediate, high and secondary school teachers at the Chennai General Secretariat.
The Integrated School Education and State Educational Research Training Institute has planned and prepared training videos and assessment questions for teachers to perform their teaching tasks in the best possible way, to provide skills development training in basic computer manipulation, web development, and ‘high-tech’ laboratories.
With these, teachers are to be trained, through a high-tech laboratory. The QR Code 432 District Consultants, selected from the State Consultants, is to be trained for 5 days from today to the 30th. In the next phase, 2.10 lakh government school teachers will be trained for 5 days in various phases from August 2, keeping those who have been trained as district consultants.
Through this training, teachers will be able to learn new technology and teach using the hexagonal resources in the book, the ‘QR’ codes, using the resources on the web, and easily interpret the lesson concepts.
Later, Education Minister Anbil Mages lied to the media and said that the training was planned to provide basic computer training to the teachers and that the training was being conducted on the instructions of the principal to find out whether the teachers were competent enough to conduct online classes for the students.
He also said that teachers were advised to post a note on the EMIS website regarding students and training would be provided accordingly.
He further said that 2,04,379 students have joined government schools across Tamil Nadu this year and 75,725 students have joined government schools from private schools this year. He said that he was going to consult with the Minister of Information Technology today regarding the occurrence of internet disorder among the students during the online class and after that the consultation with the principal would be further resolved.
