AP government has been issued the much-awaited new GO regarding the movie ticket prices.
The new GO is not exactly satisfactory for the Telugu Film Industry. As per the latest GO, the least and highest ticket price for a movie are Rs. 40 and Rs. 250 respectively, based on the areas and theaters.
It is also mentioned that the movies with more than 100 Crores INR of production cost (excluding the cast and crew remunerations) will be considered super high-budget movies. Such films will have special prices for the beginning 10 days only if the 20% of the movie is shot in Andhra Pradesh state.
The fifth show is allowed for small-budget movies which are completed within 20 Crore INR of the budget including the cast remuneration.
The new GO is seemed to be a boon for small-budget movies but definitely a drawback for the high-budget movies like RRR and Radhe Shyam which are completely shot in foreign locations and depended on VFX. We have to wait to see the Tollywood actors’ response to the revised ticket prices.
