APPSC Drops Prelims Exam For Recruitment Except For Group 1 Posts: The APPSC (Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission) made a decision of dropping the prelims examinations for all posts with an exception of group 1 posts. In the future, 10% of all posts will be reserved for the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) candidates.
Recently, some unemployed youth had held an agitation near the APPSC office. Cases were filed on them. NOw, the APPSC decided to withdraw all those cases filed. As per the Shaik Salam Babu, APPSC member, APPSC has issued 32 notifications, and postings of 30 notifications were completed. Government polytechnic college lecturer and Group 1 posts are to be filled. These are pending at the courts.
Babu said that filling the Andhra Pradesh PSC posts are being hassle-free. With the cancellation of prelims examinations, the exam conducting procedure has come down to three months from one and a half years. APPSC has made some recommendations to the state government also. In August, Notifications will be issued for 1180 posts.
Babu added, “The unemployed youth are demanding to increase the number of posts to be filled. We have taken that demand to the higher authorities. The state government also responded positively. The APPSC has also decided to withdraw all cases filed on unemployed youth who had held an agitation near the office of APPSC. “
