Buddha Poornima or Buddha Jayanti is celebrated to mark the birth of one of the greatest spiritual leaders – Lord Buddha, who is commonly known as Gautam Buddha. He was born Prince Siddhartha Gautama in 623 BC in Lumbini, which is currently in Nepal, as per UNESCO.
