Chhath Puja is a four-day religious festival observed by Hindus. This festival is celebrated with religious fervor. This festival is majorly celebrated by the people of Bihar, Jharkhand, and some parts of Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Mumbai, Madhya Pradesh, and Chattisgarh. During this Puja, devotees worship Lord Surya (Sun) and Shashthi Devi (Chhathi Maiya). People believe that worshipping these brings prosperity and well-being to their families.
Chhath Puja 2024: Date and Time
Chhath Puja 2024 will be celebrated from 8th November, Monday to 11th November, Thursday. Women observe the fast and perform rituals as part of puja for the happiness and well-being of the family.

Significance and Puja Vidhi
The four-day-long festival has different rituals every day
Day 1
Chhath Puja in 2024 will start on 8th November with Nahay-Khay. On this day, a sattvic meal is prepared and devotees offer Kaddu Bhaat to the deity. People take a holy dip in the rivers. On this day, women who are observing puja will have a single meal.
Day 2
The second day which falls on 9th November this year is for Kharna. On this day, women observe fast from sunrise to sunset without even drinking water.
Day 3
On the third day of Chhath Puja, which falls on 10th November this year, devotees worship Chhathi Maiya. People prepare Prasad and place prasad and fruits in a basket and take them to the Chhath ghats near ponds or rivers. In the evening, devotees offer Arghya to the Lord Sun by standing in the river.
Day 4
The four-day-long festival will end on 11th November this year. On this day, devotees offer prayers to the rising sun at the Chhath ghats. This day marks Usha Arghya and devotees break their fast after offering Arghya to the rising sun.
