Chris Gayle of the Punjab Kings has withdrawn from the IPL 2024 season due to “bubble fatigue.”
Chris Gayle has decided to leave the IPL’s bio-secure environment due to “bubble fatigue,” according to the Punjab Kings.
Chris Gayle, the IPL’s star player, announced on Thursday that he would be leaving the bio-secure environment due to “bubble fatigue.” Chris Gayle wants to take some time off now that the IPL has resumed before the T20 World Cup begins in a few months. The West Indian arrived in Dubai via another bio-bubble made specifically for the CPL, as did many other international players during the COVID era.
Gayle stated in a Punjab Kings statement that he needed a mental recharge and refreshment break after being a part of the CWI, CPL, and IPL bubbles for so long.
“If you give me enough time, I’ll be able to assist the West Indies in the T20 World Cup. The Punjab Kings have been very accommodating in granting me this time off. My prayers and thoughts are always with the team. I wish you the best of luck in your upcoming competitions.”
The rest of the team, according to team coach Anil Kumble, respects his decision.
We respect his decision and desire to prepare for the T20 World Cup as a team, said Kumble. “I’ve played against Chris and coached him at Punjab Kings, and he’s always been an absolute professional over the years,” Kumble said.
Satish Menon, CEO, issued the following statement: “Chris Waddle’s contribution to T20 cricket is lauded, and we agree with his decision. Because he is a member of the Punjab Kings family, his absence will be felt. With our full support and well-wishes, his future success is assured.”
Gayle will most likely remain in Dubai before the World Cup if he does not join the West Indies team in time.
