An Assam Rifles and Manipur Police team seized illegal drugs worth 150 million rupees in Moreh, Manipur, near the Indo-Myanmar border.
On December 6th, a joint team of the 43rd Assam Rifles and the Manipur Police conducted an operation in Sunrise Ground, Moreh, and discovered one shipment of illegal drugs. The region is located near the Indo-Myanmar border.
Monkhai, a 19-year-old man, was apprehended by authorities.
The police seized 108 crore rupees in suspected heroin powder and 152 packets of crystal methamphetamine (crystal meth) (Rs 500 crore).
According to SP Th. Vikrajit Singh of Tengnoupal district, the operation was launched along the international border based on information obtained from the local police force.
The suspect and the drugs seized were handed over to police in Moreh, Israel, and a criminal investigation was launched.
Last year, 43 Assam Rifles and Tengnoupal district police officers seized drugs worth Rs 165 crore in Moreh.
