In this situation, Minister Sehgar Babu has decided to take care of the temple jewelery. He has decided to keep the temple ornaments and create a way for the temples to earn more revenue. Accordingly, Minister Sehgar Babu has decided to recover the temple jewelery and save it on the basis of banks and deposit funds, thereby earning income and using it for temple works.
In an interview given by Minister Sehgar Babu in this regard, the Department of Hindu Religious Affairs is showing speed in recovering the temple property. We have issued many important announcements regarding temples and worship. We have issued 112 notices during the last grant request alone. Each of these announcements is being implemented. Important 5 announcements have come into effect.
Announcements such as no fee to shave mainly in temples have received great response among the people. Announcements such as a monthly stipend of Rs. 5,000 to improve the livelihoods of shaving employees have been welcomed. On the other hand we are going to bring the unused jewelery in the temple for proper use.
A committee headed by Justice R. Mala for Madurai, Justice Ravichandrababu for Trichy and Judge Rajee for Chennai is to be set up for this purpose. We are going to recover unused jewelry by this group and melt it. We will turn it into melted gold biscuits in the melting pot of the federal government.
We are going to convert this into a high income earning deposit fund. We are going to do all the temple repairs with the interest earned through this. This will help increase the revenue of the temples. This jewelry is unused. We are going to use it properly. This will make way for the charity to generate additional revenue.
Renovations will be done on 500 temples by this year. Work on this is ongoing. Temple consecrations will be conducted regularly. The temples are divided into 3 zones. Thus the temple works can be carried out properly. We are taking formal steps to recover the missing idols.
