Hartalika Teej History and Significance
The Hartalika Teej day has its origin when Goddess Parvati wanted to marry Lord Shiva. To get her desire fulfilled, she went through penance on the river Ganga banks.
Finally, Lord shiva noticed the devotion and love of Parvati Devi towards him and was ready to marry him.
Therefore, this festival is popular among young girls to get the desired husband.
Hartalika Teej Rituals
On this festival day, women get up early in the morning and take a holy bath. The fasting starts early morning. Women come together to worship Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. They offer flowers, fruits, and sweets to the deities. Women also sing Teej Katha and pray for their well-being.
