Ishq Vishk fame Shenaz Treasury has been diagnosed with prosopagnosia, a condition where one fails to recognize the faces of the people. The actress took to social media to share her ordeal and requested people to be kind and understand that she has a real brain disorder, she is not being “snobbish or aloof”.
The actress also mentioned the symptoms of this disorder. She wrote, “Symptoms and signs of face prosopagnosia/blindness. You have failed to recognize a family member or close friend, especially when you were not expecting to see them. Yes, that’s me. It takes me a minute to register who is that person. Sometimes even a close friend I have not seen in a while.”
She further said, “You feel difficulty in recognizing your friends, neighbors, co-workers, clients, school-mates. Failing to recognize some person might make you seem aloof. Many sufferers report losing friends and coworkers because they have failed to recognize them. This is me and I thought I was just dumb.”
The actor, who featured in movies like Luv Ka The End, Aagey Se Right, and Delhi Belly among others, concluded by saying, “I have always felt so ashamed that I mix up people and can not recognize people’s faces – even close friends after a few years. This is a real brain issue and please be kind and understand.”
