2015 :- She was the Co-Convenor of Sub Committee-III in the Committee Estimates.
2014 :- She became a member of Estimates Committee, member of Standing Committee on Commerce. And also she was appointed as a member of Consultative Committee under the Ministry of Rural Development, Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water and Sanitation. 2014 Kalvakuntla Kavitha was elected to 16th Lok Sabha in the general elections in 2014 from Nizamabad. She defeated Congress candidate Madhu Yaskhi Goud by 272123 votes.

2004 She worked in the US as Software Engineer before she returned to India. After returning to India she stayed at home for a while. As first generation woman entrepreneur, she started beauty saloon business and managed it until she entered into the Telangana movement.

K. Kavitha took an initiative to skill the youth of Telangana for making them ready for the gainful employment. Currently Telangana Jagruthi Skill Centers are imparting training to 8500 students across Telangana and assist them in placements.
