As per the doctors report patients suffering from this mystery disease are suffering from severe headache, dizziness, vomiting and epilepsy. All the patients admitted are from Eluru, West Godavari District, Andhra Pradesh. and particularly people from Kothapeta, Kobbari Thoda, Arundhatipeta and Toorpu Veedhi. Government officials are trying to Probe into the root cause of this disease and requested people not to panic.
Vice President Sri. Venkayya Naidu requested health care officials to take special care on this and also requested AIIMS to take immediate action to control the situation.
As per the hospital sources 45 year old man who admitted to Government Hospital died the same day i.e. on 7th December.
Social media and television media named it as “Mystery Disease” and few named it as “invisible disease” as all tests done by local doctors proved no traces of any recognised bacterial or viral infections.
Doctors said that the sickness is not a pandemic as per their initial observation and this sickness is not confined to any specific age group. Many people belonging to the surrounding areas of Eluru where the municipal water of Eluru is not supplied also got attacked. Even few who drink only mineral water supplied using Cans by local suppliers also feel sick and this rules out water contamination as the cause. Blood Samples and Spinal Fluids are sent to AIIMS, Delhi for culture test to find out the cause of this disease and reported to WHO for analysis of this issue. Experts from NIN and IICT are also roped in for the study of this illness.
Official statement has been released by Central Minister G. Kishan Reddy on his official twitter page ” To find out the root causes for such sudden illness in Eluru, Andhra Pradesh, the GoI is in continuous discussion with State Authorities and Ministry of Health and Welfare has deployed a Central team of 3 Doctors to visit the region today and submit a preliminary report by evening.
