Namitha Marimuthu, a trans woman actor and model, appears on the show. Namitha won Miss Trans Star International, a pageant for trans women, as India’s representative. A transgender woman will compete on Bigg Boss Tamil for the first time. The actress made her acting debut in the Tamil film Naadodigal 2 and has since appeared in a number of other films and television shows.
The show’s host and actor, Kamal Haasan, was given a copy of Dr. CK Gariyali’s book, Transgender in India: Achievers and Survivors: An Ode to Transwomen,’ written by the show’s guest host, Namita Marimuthu. Kamal had a brief conversation with Namitha during which she revealed that she had left home after her third year of college to pursue a career in modelling.
Namita was drawn to modelling because she wanted to try something new. Miss Trans Star India was founded to train transgender models for the Miss Trans Star International pageant.
