Ratha Saptami 2022: Shukla Paksha Saptami in Magha month is called as Ratha Saptami or Magha Spatami. It is believed that on this day, Surya Bhagawan started enlightening the whole world. It is also considered the birthday of God Surya, known as Surya Jayanti or Achala Saptami.
On this day, devotees worship Lord Sun and observe fast to get rid of all sins.

Ratha Saptami 2022: Significance
According to religious scriptures, Sage Kashyapa and Aditi welcomed their child, the Surya Bhagawan on this day. The twelve wheels of the chariot of the Lord Sun depict zodiac signs and the seven horses signify the seven colors of the rainbow.
Ratha Saptami: Rituals
One of the most important rituals of Ratha Saptami is Ratha Saptami Snan, which has to be completed during the Arunodaya period. This period is of one and half hours before sunrise. Devotees believe that they will be able to get rid of all types of ailments by taking a bath before sunrise.
During sunrise, Lord Surya is worshipped by offering Arghyadan. One should light Diya with pure ghee and offer red flowers to Surya Bhagawan.
