DTV Happy ..! In the local elections .. Cooker back to Aam Aadmi Party .. Will he whistle this time?
Chennai: With the announcement of rural local elections for the 9 missing districts, the cooker symbol has been allotted to the Amma People’s Progressive League.
Out of the 9 missing districts in Tamil Nadu – Vellore, Tirunelveli, Villupuram, Tenkasi, Tirupattai, Ranipettai, Kallakurichi, Chengalpattu, Kanchipuram – 9 local government elections will be held in two phases on October 6 and 9.
Candidature filing for this election is in full swing from September 15. In two days alone, 13,542 people filed nominations.
In each election, the Election Commission allocates symbols to parties other than the recognized political parties. AIADMK general secretary DTV Dhinakaran had filed a petition with the Election Commission seeking the Kuker logo. The Human Rights Commission has assigned the Kuker logo to the Amma People’s Progressive League in the 9 district rural local elections that were missed in this situation.
Earlier, in the RK Nagar by-election after Jayalalithaa’s demise, DTV, which had contested independently under the Kuker symbol, won by beating AIADMK’s Madhusudan. In that election he was assigned the Cooker logo. Similarly, in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections and the by-elections for 21 constituencies, it was expected that the Aam Aadmi Party would be allotted the Kuker symbol.
Cook had also applied to the Election Commission for the logo. But they were assigned the gift box logo. At the same time, in the assembly elections held in April, the Kuker symbol was again allotted to Aam Aadmi Party. The AIADMK, which had formed alliances with some parties, including the Majlis, lost all the constituencies.
will DTV win this time?
DTV Dhinakaran, who contested in at least Kovilpatti constituency, was expected to win. But, DTV Dhinakaran lost by a margin of about 12 thousand votes. Meanwhile, in the rural local elections, the Kuker symbol has been allotted to Amamuga. DTV is forced to get at least a minimal victory in this election. Otherwise his political future will be in question.
