From the last few days, there has been a lot of promotion for the Sridevi Soda Center. Let’s see how the film does now that it has officially been released.
Storyline
Set in Amalapuram, the film tells the storey of a couple, Sooribabu (Sudheer Babu) and Sridevi (Sridevi) ( Anandi). Sooribabu works as an electrician and has a crush on Sridevi. However, when the caste issue arises, Sridevi’s father and the local elders intervene and cause the couple to encounter difficulties. The central mystery of Sridevi Soda Center is around Sooribabu’s ability to persevere in the face of adversity.
Advantages
The moments that are executed in the second half are excellent since the emotions, performances, and drama are all compelling at this point in the film. The picture concludes in an unexpected manner, which was carefully thought out by the filmmaker.
Naresh, a senior actor, dominates the show in his negative portrayal as the antagonist. He demonstrates his versatility and offers an outstanding performance as the heroine’s father. His character is loaded with animosity toward lower castes, and Naresh has done an excellent job of demonstrating this animosity. Satyam Rajesh does a respectable job in a supporting part.
Anandi is also a good choice for the role of the heroine, and she performs admirably in the second half. She is a natural actor, and she does an excellent job in all of the emotional passages that she shares with Naresh. Likewise, Pavel, who played the major antagonist, was remarkable and well suited his part.
Lastly, but certainly not least, Sudheer Babu once again demonstrated his abilities as an actress and performer. Sudheer performs admirably in this film, which provides him with the opportunity to demonstrate his all-around abilities. Sudheer Babu has undoubtedly advanced in his acting career, whether it is through the emotional passages or the action sequences.
Negative Points
One of the most significant flaws is the drab first half of the film. It is difficult to follow the love narrative at this point because the chemistry between the couple is lacking. In a manner, it might be argued that the drama and intensity between the couple should have been emphasised even more in order to produce a lasting impression.
In addition, the first half is overly long and drawn out for no apparent purpose. Despite the fact that Raghu Babu plays the hero’s father, he is utterly forgotten as the hero is dealing with so much trauma in his life. The initial part of the film also need some cutting, and scenes pertaining to the love narrative should have been included.
Aspects of the technical nature
Mani Sharma’s music is passable, but his background music was highly effective. The production standards are excellent, and the camerawork effectively depicts the small-town setting in a convincing manner. At the very least, ten minutes should be cut from the film. In addition, the production design is outstanding.
When it comes to Karuna Kumar, he has returned to the subject of caste after tackling the subject in his debut film Palasa. Whereas the last film was anchored in reality, Sridevi Soda Center is more of a business venture. The director’s narration in the drama department is flawless, but he did not adequately develop the love narrative, which is a big flaw in the overall production.
Verdict
Sridevi Soda Center is a small-town romantic tale with a beautiful environment, and it succeeds as a result. The rustic characters, incredible climax, and superb performances are the show’s most important assets. On the other hand, the first half of the picture is tedious, and the love storey is only passable. In the event that you ignore these flaws, the picture has some fascinating moments to look out for and is still a nice movie in general.
