The Nagpur slum’s students are not having smartphones as well internet connectivity. Hence, these became hurdles for their studies. As all the schools of India are shut down due to the Covid 19 pandemic, students are in need of smartphones, laptops, and the internet.
The young children of Nagpur are having fear in mind, because of the uncertainty in the continuation of studies. Nagpur’s Danteshwari Nagar slum are feeling difficulty in their studies due to the unavailability of smartphones and data charges.
Laxmi, who is a student from the slum area said to ANI, “Studying with a single phone is difficult for us. The internet packs are also at high cost and we are facing network issues as well.”
Laxmi’s parents also said that they are having only single mobile and they have to carry that to the workplace. They are incapable to afford a smartphone.
Jayshree Chikane, who is working as a government teacher in the nearby school said, “Students are facing issues, in our students, a fifty percent does not have smartphone access. ”
On 1st July, Digital India has marked six years. While interacting with the DIKSHA scheme beneficiaries, via video conference, PM Narendra Modi said Digital India is the strength slogan of the country in the 21st century.
The Prime Minister quoted “If we have got the zeal of innovation then there’ll be a passion for of its adaption our country. That’s why Digital India is a resolution and slogan of India’s strength in the 21st century. “
