Sushma Swaraj Birth Anniversary: February 14 marks Sushma Swaraj’s 70th anniversary, who was one of the remarkable political leaders in India.
Sushma Swaraj was popularly known as the Iron Lady of India, for her exceptional works. She received the Padma Vibhushan award, which is the second-highest honor in India.
Sushma Swaraj become one of the most followed Indian politicians on Twitter and was also awarded as ‘Supermom of India’ by The Washington Post. She served as the Union Minister of External Affairs, becoming the second Indian woman to hold this position after Indira Gandhi.
Sushma Swaraj was born on 14th February 1952 in Ambala, India, and started working towards her goal from a young age. She started her advocate practice in the Supreme Court in the year 1973.
At the age of 25 years, she became the youngest Cabinet Minister of Haryana. She was also BJP’s first female CM, General Secretary, Spokesperson, Minister of External Affairs, and Union Cabinet Minister.
While working as the Union Minister of Broadcasting, Sushma Swaraj played a major role in liberating the Indian Fil Industry by declaring the film-making sector as an industry and giving it the eligibility to grant bank loans.
Sushma Swaraj became the Minister of External Affairs in the first term of the Narendra Modi cabinet, and her work during her tenure made her one of the most beloved and efficient leaders in the central government. As an External Affair Minister, she helped many Indians stuck overseas to come back to their homeland.
Sushma Swaraj breathed her last breath on 6th August 2019 due to a heart attack. She was rushed to AIIMS New Delhi, and there she passed away after a cardiac arrest.
