Toli Ekadasi: Toli Ekadasi is the name given to the Ekadashi that is observed during the Shukla Paksha (waxing phase of the moon) in Ashada month in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Telugu-speaking communities across the world.
According to the Telugu calendar, Toli Ekadasi 2022 date is July 10. This Ekadashi is also known as Hari Shayani Ekadashi or Deva Shayani Ekadasi. The Chaturmas Vrat (four holy months in Hinduism) also starts from this day. It is believed that Lord Vishnu goes to sleep from this day and the nighttime for Devas also starts on this day.
Tholi Ekadashi day is of great significance to the farming community as they start to sow seeds after the first rains.
Thi day has a great significance in Vaishnava temples. Various pujas and rituals are performed for the welfare of the living being and the universe.
Devotees donate food, gains, books, farm implements, education materials, and clothes. Feeding livestock and animals on this day earns virtue.
It is believed that observing Tholi Ekadashi will help in the redemption of sins. Some devotees observe a complete fast on this day for their well-being.
