On Thursday, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced that his government will implement UCC (Uniform Civil Code) in the state soon.
Pushkar Dhami said, “The state cabinet unanimously approved that a committee of experts will be continued at the earliest and it will be implemented in the state. This will be the first state to implement the UCC”.
“Firstly, I want to thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to work as the Uttarakhand’s CM for five years. We will fulfill every promise, including the Uniform Civil Code implementation in the state” Dhami was quoted as saying by ANI.
In the Uttarakhand Assembly Elections 2024, the BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) party won 47 seats out of the 70.
