Chennai: Heavy to very heavy rains are likely in a few parts of the city in Chennai for the next 48 hours, said Balachandran, Southern Regional Chairman, Meteorological Center. Thundershowers will occur at a few places in Tenkasi, Tirunelveli, Tuticorin, Cuddalore, Madurai and Sivagangai districts. Heavy rain and moderate rain are likely in most parts of other districts.
Cuddalore, Villupuram, Pudukottai, Sivagangai, Ramanathapuram districts and a few places in Puthuvai and Karaikal will receive heavy to very heavy rains with thunder and lightning in the delta districts tomorrow.
Heavy to very heavy rain in one or two places, Tirunelveli, Kanyakumari, Tenkasi, Virudhunagar, Madurai, Ariyalur, Perambalur, Kanchipuram, Tiruvallur, Chengalpattu and a few other places in the districts. , Tirupati, Thiruvannamalai and Kallakurichi districts will experience light to moderate rain with thundershowers at one or two places and most places in other districts.
