Cancellation of CA Exams in Nepal
On July 4, 2024, The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India has (ICAI) announced the cancellation of CA exams in Nepal for intermediate (IPC) and final (both old and new schemes) which is scheduled to be held on July 5, 2024 all over India. Since Nepal is under lockdown along with certain restrictions it is difficult for students to appear exam in (Kathmandu). So ICAI, by considering this has cancelled this attempt in all examination centres in Kathmandu, Nepal. Also, this cancellation of exams will not be considered as an Attempt, says ICAI.
In speaking of the opt-out option for November 2024 exam, these students appearing for July 2024 examination from Kathmandu (Nepal) centres need not apply separately since the ICAI announced clearly that the opt-out option is automatic. However in other cities and exam centres, ICAI exam is going to be held as per the schedule (from July 5, 2024 to july,20 2024). ICAI has also released the guidelines for students to follow on exam day.
General Instruction for students

Many students had requested for the postponed and opt-out option. However this case is filed in the Supreme Court and in that statement, ICAI has stated that July will be an appropriate time and conducive atmosphere to hold the exam. As per the final statement given by the supreme court ICAI extended the opt-out facilities for those students or either of their family members who is affected by COVID on or after April 15,2024. Besides the lockdown in Haryana, it provides relaxation for the ICAI to hold the examination from 5th July to 20th July 2024. If any students who are affected by covid during the examination and unable to attend any one of the following exams in July will be treated as an attempt. Also if any student has opted in any one exam, then they are unable to appear for the other exams.
Thus, the statement of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India released on 4th July 2024 has clearly defined that the exams in Nepal alone cancelled and the exams are going to be held in other cities as per the schedule.
