TV actress Divya Bhatnagar passed away on 7th December 2020 due to Covid-19 in Mumbai and since then a lot has been reported about her troubled marriage. After Devoleena Bhattacharjee’s allegations, the late actress’s brother has also spoken up. He revealed that Divya was subjected to violence by her husband, Gagan Gabru.
What did Divya Bhatnagar’s brother say?
In an interview, Divya’s brother Devashish revealed that she had left behind a note in which she wore the details about the abuse she suffered in her marriage. Devashish said, “Gagan started torturing Divya physically and mentally soon after their marriage. She has written a note on 7th November, in which she had stated that Gagan tortures and abuses her. She had also approached the police and filed an NC on 16th November against him, following domestic abuse. I had told her to stay strong when I got to talk to her at the time of hospitalization”.
What did Devoleena Reveal?
Divya’s good friend Devoleena Bhattacharjee had posted an emotional video on her Instagram account revealing some details about the married life of Divya Bhatnagar. She accused Divya’s husband Gagan Gabru of being torturing the late actress.
Devoleena also said that Divya’s life was filled with miseries and she was suffering in her marriage, which led her to a mental breakdown. She went on to say that Gagan used to beat up Divya often and even stole some of her Jewellery. She mentioned an incident when Gagan had come home on Karwa Chauth and beat Divya.
In the video, Devoleena also revealed that Divya’s husband has a case of molestation registered against him at Shimla police station. He was even put behind bars for six months and that case is still going on. Devoleena also asked Gagan’s so-called girlfriends to be safe so that they don’t face the same thing that Divya faced. She said that she will prove the allegations against Gagan and urged the industry to do a background check before working with him.
Divya Bhatnagar’s Death
Divya Bhatnagar was on ventilator support after the deterioration of her health. Since she was a high blood pressure patient, she battled the disease for about a week. She was rushed to the hospital on 26th November after her condition deteriorated.
