Aryan Khan, Arbaaz Merchant, and Munmun Dhamecha were granted bail today by the Bombay High Court after being detained for 24 days in connection with the drugs-on-cruise-ship case.
Former Indian Attorney General Mukul Rohatgi, who represented Shah Rukh Khan in the Bombay High Court, said the actor sobbed “tears of joy” when his son Aryan Khan was granted bail in the drugs-on-cruise case. “He has given up all his professional activities,” Mr Rohatgi said of the actor.
In the three or four days I’ve been there, he’s been extremely worried, and I’m not even sure if he’s eaten enough.
His coffee addiction had gotten out of hand. He was also deeply concerned about the situation. And the last time I saw him, he had a huge sigh of relief on his face,” Mr Rohatgi exclusively told NDTV.
Bail was denied twice for Aryan Khan, 23, resulting in a total of 24 days in jail.
Despite the fact that Shah Rukh and Gauri Khan did not attend the hearings, Mr Khan did meet Aryan on October 21 at Mumbai’s Arthur Road jail after his bail was denied for the final time.
According to Mr Rohatgi, Aryan Khan had no drugs on him, and the Narcotics Control Bureau’s case against him was based entirely on “irrelevant” WhatsApp chats from two years ago that had no bearing on the cruise. Under the circumstances, he claimed, Aryan Khan’s arrest was unjust and violated his constitutional rights.
