DC celebrating before victory; Mega Six on the last ball – RCB’s young storm that shook the stage!
Abu Dhabi: Bangalore won the toss and elected to field.
In the IPL 2024 series, two double headers were played today (Oct. 8). Mumbai Indians played against Sunrisers Hyderabad and RCB played against Delhi.
In this, the match between Delhi – Bangalore teams was a great treat for the fans.
Poor finish
Batting first against Bangalore, Delhi scored 164 for 5 in 20 overs. Prithviraj Shah – Dhawan pair played immensely and scored 88 runs for the first wicket. But, all the players who came after that played in very poor form, Delhi scored only 164 runs. After this, Bangalore lost 2 wickets for 6 runs. The goalie was out for 4 and the angel was out for zero.
Separate seal
De Villiers was then dismissed for 26, but Sreekar Bharath put on an excellent performance. Bharath, who makes good use of his opportunity in every match, has left his mark on the tournament. Asathiya, who scored his first fifty in the IPL series, continued to test the Delhi bowlers.
Akshar who was smiling
Glenn Maxwell, who was in excellent form, continued his form in this match as well. But, in the last over, that is, in the 19th over, Norgay needed 15 runs to win the last over to give up just 4 runs. Of these, 8 runs were required to win the last 2 balls. Just then, the Delhi players started celebrating the victory. In particular, when the 4th ball was not hit by Bharath, bowler Avesh Khan laughed. After that, Akshar Patel, who had fielded Sotappal in the 5th ball, was allowed to take 2 runs by a poor fielder where he should have given only 1 run. He did not regret it. Instead, Akshar was smiling.
Six off the last ball
The last ball required 6 runs to win. Avesh Khan then bowled Wide and needed 5 runs to win. Thus, if the bouncing hits to 4, then it will be a super over. But bharath smashed to six at the last ball. Bharath, who faced 52 balls, scored 78 runs. This includes 3 fours and 4 sixes. However, this victory or defeat did not affect either team in any way. To keep the Delhi team in first place, Bangalore continued in the same third place.
Outgoing Mumbai
Similarly, in another match between Mumbai and Hyderabad, batting first, Mumbai chased down 235 and chased down Hyderabad for 193 in 20 overs for the loss of 8 wickets. Captain Manish Pandey was on the field till the last with 69 off 41 balls. Thus, the Mumbai team won by a margin of 42 runs. However, the Mumbai team failed to qualify for the play-offs despite scoring 14 points. Mumbai, two consecutive champions, have been knocked out of the IPL 2024 play-offs.
