Almost everyone knows that Jio 5G jobs are on fire. But now there is a bad update about Airtel 5G. Sources say Bharti Airtel, one of India’s largest telecom operators, conducted a 5G domain test in Mumbai using Finnish company Nokia’s network gear.
Airtel’s Mumbai 5G network test was conducted in the Lower Parel area last Monday. The 5G network was tested using Nokia’s 5G gear at the Phoenix Mall in the aforementioned area. During the test, a video was filmed to show the speed of Airtel’s test network, in which Airtel recorded a download speed of 1.2 Gbps with ultra-low latency and an upload speed of 850 Mbps.
During this Mumbai test, Airtel was able to break the previous speed test record of 1 Gbps recorded during its last 5G network test conducted earlier in Gurgaon’s Cyber Hub area. As a reminder, Airtel last January emerged as the first telecom service provider to successfully demonstrate direct 5G service through 1800 MHz band NSA (non-standalone) network technology in a commercial network in Hyderabad. A doT (Department of Technology) has allocated Airtel 5G spectrum in four Indian telecom circles, including Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore, and Delhi. The company is allocated a 5G test spectrum in the 3500 MHz, 28 GHz, and 700 MHz bands.
Competitors Reliance Jio and Vodafone Idea (V) are allocated 5G test spectrum in the 700 MHz, 3.5 GHz, and 26 GHz bands.
As a reminder, Airtel, Reliance Jio, Vodafone Idea, and MTNL were given permission earlier this year to test the application and applications of 5G technology in India.
Since then all of the above companies have been working with original equipment manufacturers such as Ericsson, Nokia, Samsung, and C-Dot to set up their 5G network. The time allotted for testing is six months, which includes two months for purchasing and setting up the equipment. The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has not yet held auctions for the 5G spectrum in India.
However, the Standing Committee on Information Technology has said that 5G service in India will be available by the end of 2024 or early 2024. It is also worth noting that 4G networks will continue to operate for at least 5 to 6 years after that.
Apart from this, Reliance Jio also recently conducted 5G tests in Mumbai using its locally made tools. The company worked in the mid and mm wave bands in Mumbai for its 5G domain tests.
TRAI STATEMENT
Trai’s latest statement highlights the deplorable state of Vodafone’s Idea and asks users under the Vi service, “Should I continue to be associated with this telecom company?” Has also raised the question of. How many people escaped from which telecom company last April 2024? Which telecom operator has added a lot of subscribers? TRAI has issued a statement.
According to sector subscribers, Vodafone Idea (Vi) lost a total of 1.8 million users in April 2024, with 18 lakh people leaving the V service.
The good thing is, this is April data. VI Company has been seeing good subscriber growth for the last 2 months.
Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Jio continues to lead the way with 4.8 million wireless users in April 2024, while rival Bharti Airtel added 0.5 million, according to a report released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) on Monday (July 12).
