On Wednesday, the government of Andhra Pradesh issued draught notifications for the creation of 13 new districts, making a total of districts in the state 26.
The AP Districts Formation Act was used by the Andhra Pradesh government, led by Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy, to create 13 additional districts. In total, there are 26 districts in the state.
The new districts were created using Parliamentary constituencies as a guide. With the addition of 13 new districts, Andhra Pradesh currently has a total of 26 districts.
