Mumbai Bombings 2011 – The Terror Blasts That Shook India: The city of dreams – Mumbai was turned into a tragic nightmare, on the evening of the 13th July 2011. Within 11 minutes, at least 25 people were killed and more than 125 people were injured by three bomb blasts.
Those three bomb explosions happened between 6.54 pm and 7.05 pm at Opera house, Zaveri Bazar, and Dadar area of Mumbai. India was shaken by these Mumbai Bombings 2011.
The questions like, who was behind these blastings, why only these three places have chosen, etc. Various agencies have marked speculation at the beginning of the investigations, those are from Indian Mujaheddin’s role to Taliban Mumbai underworld’s plot to Kashmir to the blasts. To unearth the details, media agencies were also in the race.
In the first week of August 2011, then Union Home Minister P.Chindambaram said that behind these explosions, a home-grown terror module could be there. Later a few days, the Maharasthra ATS (Anti-Terrorism Squad) caught a person who had stolen the two-wheeler used for the bombing at Zaveri Bazar.
The Mumbai police have arrested two young men from Darbhanga district, Bihar. With this, on 23rd January 2012, they have claimed that the case is solved. Those arrested young men were identified as Naqi Ahmed Wasi Ahmed Sheikh (22), and Nadeem Akhtar Ashfaq Sheikh (23). The ATS unit of Mumbai declared that the co-founder of the Indian Mujaheddin, Yasin Bhatkal is the mastermind of this terror attack.
In May 2012, Naqee Ahmed, Haroon Naik, Nadeem Shaikh, and Kanwar Pathrija were listed in the charge sheet by the Maharastra ATS. Next to it, Riyaz Bhatkal, Tehseen Akhta, Yasin Bhatkal, Danish, Waqas Ibrahim Sad, and Dubai-based Muzaffar Kolah were also listed in the charge sheet. In the month of July 2014, Abdul Mateen Fakki was apprehended by Mumbai ATS, from Dabolim Airport, Goa. He is accused of transferring money to Yasin Bhatkal.
