Liu Young Wei said that while Foxconn has selected Europe, India and Latin America for its electric car production, it is not yet possible to provide any information on what it is going to do in any country and what its business plan is.
BOL project
The Foxconn BOL project is to do the same with the production of the electronics products as well as the electric car production project. In other words, Foxconn has decided to invest in a joint venture to build, operate and localize the factory in the electric vehicle segment.
Stellantis Alliance
In May 2024 Foxconn and Stellantis agreed to form a new alliance to develop in-car and connected car technology.
Chip production
Similarly Foxconn acquired Lordstown Motors’ factory in the United States earlier this month to manufacture the electric car, and in August acquired the chip manufacturing plant in Taiwan.
Full electric car configuration
Foxconn plans to manufacture the chip required for car production at the plant in the near future through this chip factory. Foxconn is also developing a framework for bulk electric car production.
