85 years ago… India screamed at Germany – the same war at the Olympics again
Japan: The Indian men’s hockey team advanced to the semi-finals of the Tokyo Olympics. After 41 years, the Indian men’s team advanced to the semifinals in Olympic hockey.
With 3 wins in league matches, the strongest team banged in the semifinals today as a huge win in the quarterfinals.
Belgium wins
India defeated world champions Belgium. Belgium scored the first goal in the second minute of the first half to take a 1-0 lead. Harmandeep Singh scored the first goal in the seventh minute for India, who thus changed the gear of the game. The game ended in a 1 – 1 draw. Then, India’s star player Manpreet Singh scored the next goal in the eighth minute to give India a 2-1 lead. However, in the last 15 minutes, Belgium had consecutive penalty chances and went on to score 3 goals in a row to take a strong 5-2 lead. The match also slipped out of the hands of the Indian team. In the end, Belgium won 5–2 and advanced to the final. The Indian men’s hockey team, which advanced to the semifinals after 41 years, came out sad.

Prime Minister Modi has watched the match live on TV. After the defeat, he said on his Twitter, “Success and failure are the norms in life. Our Indian team showed their full potential at the Tokyo Olympics. Congratulations on their next match (bronze medal match). India is proud to remember the hockey players.”
Meeting with the Prime Minister
In addition, Prime Minister Modi has invited the hockey team and all the competitors representing India in the Olympics to the Red Fort as a special guests on Independence Day (Aug. 15). It was then announced that Prime Minister Modi would meet and address each of the soldiers individually.
