This is the second smartphone to bear the OnePlus 9 moniker, and it is the successor to the OnePlus 9R, which was released earlier this year. The OnePlus 9RT, which was recently released in China and will be available in India shortly after, offers some improvements over the previous OnePlus phone model, which was released in 2015.
The OnePlus 9RT is also available at a starting price of CNY 3299 (approximately Rs 38,500) for the entry-level variant with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. In case you didn’t know, another OnePlus smartphone is now available at the same price. That is the base model of the OnePlus 9 smartphone.
The OnePlus 9 (review here) is available in India for Rs 46,999, but a current bank discount reduces the price to Rs 39,999 (after tax). As a result, if the OnePlus 9RT retains its Chinese pricing when it launches in India, the two devices may be too similar to distinguish between them.
In order to dispel any doubts, we’ve put together a comparison of the features of the OnePlus 9 and the OnePlus 9RT.
The technical specifications of the OnePlus 9RT
OnePlus’s 9RT smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset and can be configured with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. With a 6.62-inch E4 OLED display, it offers a 120-Hz refresh rate as well as a peak brightness of 1300nits, HDR10+ support, and a touch response rate of 600Hz. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor.
The OnePlus 9’s technical specifications
On paper, the OnePlus 9 and the new OnePlus 9RT have specifications that are nearly identical to one another. It is only the display of the two phones that makes a significant difference between them. In terms of screen size, the OnePlus 9 has a slightly smaller 6.55-inch AMOLED display with support for 120Hz refresh rate. A resolution of 2400×1800 pixels and a maximum brightness of 1100 nits are provided by this display.
The processor, memory options, and even the battery on both devices are the same as they were on the other. But the operating system is different, as the OnePlus 9 ships with OxygenOS 11, which is based on Android 11 and is designed specifically for it.
Head-to-head
Therefore, when the OnePlus 9RT is launched in India, it will most likely be priced similarly to the OnePlus 9 when compared to the OnePlus 9. Here are some things to think about when deciding between the two options.
There are no differences in the processor and memory options between the two OnePlus handsets.
– OnePlus 9RT has a slightly larger display than the OnePlus 9, but their displays are nearly identical otherwise. The difference, on the other hand, should be imperceptible.
– The OnePlus 9RT is powered by Oppo’s ColorOS12, whereas the OnePlus 9 is powered by OxygenOS11.
– They are both powered by a single lithium-ion battery.
– The OnePlus 9’s camera performs significantly better than the OnePlus 9RT’s.
The OnePlus 9 is a step above its new competitor in terms of performance, but its price has now been brought into line with that of its competitor because it has been on the market for about half a year. Even though you can get a discount on a smartphone that is still very capable – the OnePlus 9 – the OnePlus 9RT will provide you with the most recent operating system for the same price as the OnePlus 9.
