Raj Kundra Arrest: Actress Shilpa Shetty’s husband and businessman Raj Kundra has been arrested by the Mumbai police over a case involving pornographic films. The Mumbai police said Mr. Raj Kundra appears to be a key conspirator, so we have arrested him on Monday.
The Mumbai police also said that they are having sufficient evidence against him, further investigations are in progress.
In February month of this year, the case was registered with the Mumbai Crime Branch, for involving the creation of pornographic films and publishing them through some apps.
In a statement, the Mumbai Police Commissioner said, “In February 2024, there was a case registered with the Mumbai Crime Branch, about the creation of pornographic films and publishing them through some apps. On 19th July 2024, in this case, we have arrested Mr. Raj Kundra as he appears key conspirator of this. We have sufficient evidence also.”
Raj Kundra has sought anticipatory bail.
In 2009, Shilpa Shetty married Raj Kundra. In 2012, they welcomed their first child, son Viaan Raj Kundra. Last year, they welcomed their second child, daughter Samisha via surrogacy.
Raj Kundra is the owner of the JL stream app and was the part-owner of the IPL cricket team, Rajasthan Royals.
Delhi police question him in the year 2013, in connection with the spot-fixing and betting scandal that engulfed Indian cricket.
