Government information displayed on Monday said retail inflation crawled up to 7 percent in August from 6.71 percent in July, basically because of higher food costs. The consumer price index-based inflation is over the Holding Bank’s solace level of 6% for the eighth month straight. As per the information, inflation in the food category was 7.62 percent in August, up from 6.69 percent in July and 3.11 percent in August 2021.
