TS E Challan Discount 2024: In a big relief to vehicle owners and RTC drivers having unpaid traffic violation challans, the Telangana state police offered a one-time opportunity to clear off the pending bills.
A starting 1750 Crore rupees is lying as an outstanding amount to be collected as penalties over six crore traffic challans from all the police units across the state.
The new offer will be open from 1st March and shall continue throughout the month. As a result, the e-Challan online platform is being witnessed with new options to avail of one-time discounts.
Discount Formula
The discount formula is going to be introduced for the first time in the Telangana state from 1st March. As per it, a discount of 75% is offered on the outstanding amount for two and three-wheelers and 50% for Light Motor Vehicles and Heavy motor vehicles. A large number of challans are of not wearing helmets or Overspeed.
For instance, if a bike has a 10000 rupees penalty for various traffic violations then the motorist has to pay only 2500 INR and ride free. This discount includes Rs. 35/- service charges on each challan. a service charge of Rs. 15/- on each challan will be given to the postal department and the rest amount will be settled internally.
70% For Buses
The TSRTC bus drivers also have thousands of traffic violation challans. Now, this new offer gives them a steep discount of 70% on the outstanding amount and hence they are supposed to pay only 30%.
The state government estimates a big bonanza as it targets a realization of anywhere between 500-700 Crore rupees.
Another Offer
There is one more offer to cheer the citizens, that is, a 90% discount on challans raised for non-wearing of face masks during the corona pandemic.
