World Mango Day 2024 – All about the world’s most expensive ‘Egg of the Sun’: All of us know that the Mango is the “King of all fruits”. Every year, 22nd July is celebrated as World Mango Day.
Last month purple mangoes’ pictures have started rounds on social media. Soon, news reports said that security guards and dogs were deployed for the protection of these mangoes. The curiosity of Indians about these mangoes is touched heights when the mangoes are grown by the Madhya Pradesh’s couple.
This kind of mango is known as Miyazaki mango. These are the most expensive varieties in Southeast Asia. Typically, these mangoes grow in Japan. The couple who had been growing the mangoes said that a man on the train gave the sampling.
When the international price of these mangoes turned out to be Rs 2.70 lakh per kg, the hype around these mangoes is also increased.

- Between April and August months, these fruits grow
- This mango is very different from the yellow “pelican mango” which grows widely in Southeast Asia.

- As per some reports, the Miyazaki mangoes were first produced in the late 70s and 80s
- Before the shipment, these mangoes undergo stringent checking and inspection. The test passed ones are called the ‘Eggs of the Sun’.
