Navratri is one of the longest and biggest Hindu festivals, and it is celebrated five times a year in different seasons. Along with Chaitra Navratri, there are also Sharada Navratri, Ashadha Navratri, and the Paush/Magh Navratri. The two most important are – the Chaitra Navratri in spring, and Sharada Navratri at the onset of autumn.
Devotees believe that Chaitra Navratri symbolizes the victory of good over evil and it represents the victory of Goddess Durga over demon Mahishasura.
