What is the traffic light rating system in the United Kingdom?
Inbound and outbound passengers are aware of the precautions and procedures that must be followed in the United Kingdom’s airline rating system.
Multiple waves, the most recent of which was caused by the more transmissible delta variant, have hit the United Kingdom, as well as several other countries. On Wednesday, nearly 30 000 new cases were reported in the country, bringing the total number of victims reported by COVID-19 to 130 000.
In the United Kingdom, the average daily COVID-19 case count increased significantly in June and early July, but the trend appears to be reversing.
Green
Travelers must take pre-start or RT-PCR tests on or before the second day of their arrival in the United Kingdom. There is no need for quarantine or additional testing for those testing negative products. The traffic light system also includes a ‘Green Watchlist,’ which lists countries on the verge of being moved from the ‘green’ to the ‘amber.’
Amber
Those on the amber list must pass three tests before entering the UK. At least three days before the flight, the first test must be completed on or before the day the flight arrives at the airport. The second test must be completed on or before the arrival date.
Red
Travellers arriving from countries on the UK’s red list must stay in a hotel for at least ten days and must make appropriate arrangements. After arriving in the UK, visitors will be required to take three COVID-19 tests: the first before the flight, the second on day two after arrival, and the third on day eight. It is important to note that only British and Irish nationals, as well as those with residency rights in the UK, are permitted to enter from red-listed countries.
