Thangam
Sudha Kongra has collaborated on everything except movement as story, screenplay, script. Shaun Karuppasamy has worked with Sudhavoda on story, screenplay and verse three, and Ganesh has also worked on the screenplay
The story takes place in the year 1981 in Kadampalayam village of Coimbatore district. Chandanu Bhagyaraj, a caste Hindu, falls in love with Bhavani Sri (GV Prakash’s sister), the younger sister of Muslim transgender Kalidas Jayaram. The story is about what happened to them and what happened to them after that to be in love with Kalidasa over Shantanu.
Kalidas Jayaram has played the role of a transgender person. Congratulations bro … all the doors will open now. There is not much room for Shantanu and Bhavani Shree to express their acting. Sudha’s Thangam role draws attention to the verses. Kalidas breaks down and cries, “Thangam, no one has ever hugged me like this … to think that I have never touched anyone like this … or to put it off.” The verse “These fights are not new to me… Do you know if I can come and give you a house there” also suggests the real situation. The film ends with the verse, “The supporter of the murderer is greater than the murderer.” Of the four stories, only one in this story has a strong sense of opposition. Sudha, however, stretches out Kalidas’ scenes and demands that the audience weep and mourn.
