He was born on 04-09-1957 to Varahala Dora in Narsipatnam. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Arts from PR Government College, Kakinada, in 1978.

He was also elected as a member of parliament during 1996–98 from Anakapalli constituency. He lost the election from same MLA constituency during 1989–93, 2009 and in 2019 and he served as a Cabinet minister in Government of AP from 2014 -2019.

Chintakayala Ayyanna Patrudu is a senior Telugu Desam Party (TDP) member. He worked as the MLA for the Visakhapatnam district’s Narsipatnam Assembly Constituency. He has represented Narsipatnam in the Assembly five times. Ayyanna Patrudu had been a minister in Chandrababu Naidu’s and NT Rama Rao’s governments. He was in charge of the committees for roads, buildings, forests, and the environment.
Konatala Ramakrishna, a member of the YSR Congress Party and a minister in YS Rajasekhar Reddy’s past Congress government, is strongly opposed by Ch. Ayyanna Patrudu. Bolepu Muthyalappa of the Congress Party won Ayyanna Patrudu in the 2009 Assembly elections by a margin of 8,000 votes.
Ayyanna Patrudu is a political leader who gained popularity for her harsh, aggressive, and violent remarks, particularly directed at Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. His attacks on Jagan started as soon as the YSRCP won the government. The state irrigation department submitted an inquiry with the CID, which led to the arrest of the father-son couple on forgery charges.

By a margin of 23366 votes, Uma Sankara Ganesh Petla of the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party beat Ayyanna Patrudu Chintakayala of the Telugu Desam Party to win the seat. The Anakapalli Lok Sabha seat includes the Narsipatnam Assembly constituency. Dr. Beesetti Venkata Satyavathi, a candidate for the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party, defeated the Telugu Desam Party by a margin of 89192 votes to win the Anakapalli Lok Sabha (MP) seat in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
