Rajasthan Day 2024: Rajasthan, India’s largest state by area, is known as the ‘Land of Kingdoms’ or ‘Land of Kings’. It is located in the northwest corner of the country and is home to diverse cultures. Rajputana was integrated into India, resulting in the formation of the state, and Jaipur was declared the state capital.

Rajasthan’s history extends back more than 5000 years. Rajasthan was made up of kingdoms and had a rich architectural and cultural legacy.
Mewar was the most powerful state in Rajputana at the beginning of the 13th century. Prithiviraj Chauhan, Samrat Hem Chandra Vikramaditya (also known as Hemu), Maharana Udai Singh, Maharana Pratap, Raja Maan Singh, and others figure prominently in Rajasthan’s early history.
Geography of Rajasthan
Ajmer state, Dhundhar, Hadoti, Shekhawati, Mewar, Marwari, Gorwar, Vagad, and Mewat are the nine areas that made Rajasthan. These locations are equally rich in terms of historical and creative contributions.
Keoladeo National Park, near Bharatpur, is a world heritage site in Rajasthan which is notable for its birdlife. Sariska Tiger Reserve in Alwar and Ranthambore National Park in Sawai Madhopur are the state’s two national tiger reserves.
